The adoption of SF6 in high voltage electrical equipment has brought significant benefits in performance and reliability. Considered an atmospheric pollutant contributing to the greenhouse effect, precautions must be taken for its recovery during quality analysis on-site. Until now, the sample flow to the analyzers was only controlled and reduced. Today, the goal is to completely eliminate its release into the atmosphere. SF6 gas must be absolutely pure, and its quality verified according to European directives and regulations, in order to prevent its insulating properties from degrading and potentially causing negative consequences for circuit breakers.
